Review Flashcards
Do you think it is likely that I will get a 4 or a 5 on the AP World History Exam?
My AP W.H. exam is on May 15th. I have the Barron’s Review Book (2007 edition), the REA Guide (2007ed.), and the Barron’s Flashcards. However, I’ve heard from many, many people that the Princeton Review Book is the best for doing well on the exam. I am definitely going to buy it and start studying soon, as I don’t have too much time left until the exam. I have a few questions. If I completely read the Princeton Review Book, do you think I will be able to get a 4 or a 5 on the exam? Also, at this point, it seems kind of difficult to try and read all the review books/flashcards now. Should I just not really read/review the other books/flashcards and just read the Princeton review? I really want to get a 4 or a 5. And what basic things should I try to memorize? Or should I just read the book? AP World does seem overwhelming at times, especially since the essay questions can be on just about anything. What are your tips for doing well on the exam? Thanks so much for your help and advice.
It’s impossible to predict and guarantee a certain score. While APUSH is the hardest AP (in my opinion), it’s not impossible to get a 5. It doesn’t matter how many prep books you’ve bought from the local bookstore or how much you want that 4 or 5. What matters is how much you actually know all the content.
Don’t just skim through the book when doing a cram review session. Actually take the time and effort to understand and grasp the concepts. Make sure you aren’t just letting the words on the page go through your mind and be forgotten. Remember it!
And, of course, only study when you are feeling productive. If you feel that you can’t seem to memorize anything, go refresh your mind (jog/eat/nap/etc.) then get back to studying.
So my message to you is: Why aren’t you studying!? Get off the computer, put away all distractions, and get studying!
